We proudly serve guests throughout Rockingham County, the North Carolina Triad, and Southern Virginia, including Mayodan, Madison, Eden, Reidsville, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Burlington, Danville, and surrounding communities. Our winery, vineyard wedding venue, and cabin rentals also welcome visitors from across North Carolina and Virginia.
Gioia dell'Amore Cellars was born from a shared dream between two sisters, Julie and Laura, and their husbands, Dave and David. Their love of wine, family, hospitality, and serving others sparked a conversation around a kitchen table in 2013 that would ultimately become a vineyard, winery, and destination in the rolling hills of North Carolina.
The name Gioia dell'Amore is Italian for "The Joy of Love," a fitting reflection of the values that inspired the dream. After experimenting with home winemaking and studying wine together, the couples began envisioning a winery that would bring people together to celebrate life's meaningful moments.
In 2015, Julie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. During her treatment, the families found positive energy in the shared vision. It was during this season that the sisters chose the name Gioia dell'Amore, inspired by their love of family, faith, and the Italian culture they admired. Although Julie passed away in 2016, her spirit and dream remain at the heart of everything we do.
Several years later, Laura and David continued their winemaking education and search for the perfect winery home. When they discovered Autumn Creek Vineyards in Rockingham County, North Carolina, they knew they had found the place where the dream could finally take root. They purchased the property in 2021 and officially launched Gioia dell'Amore Cellars in 2022 on Julie's birthday as a tribute to her life and legacy.
Today, Gioia dell'Amore Cellars is a family-owned winery, vineyard, wedding venue, cabin retreat, and Harvest Hosts destination dedicated to creating joyful experiences. Guests can enjoy estate-grown wines, live music, special events, overnight stays, and vineyard weddings while becoming part of a community built around connection and hospitality. Through our "That's Amore!" Wine Club and our "Andiamo!" Wine Tourism Group, we continue to bring people together to explore, celebrate, and share in the joy of wine, friendship, and adventure.
